Two women smiling with a scenic lake and hills in the background.

Hi, I'm Rosanne.

I'm a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC) with a Master's in Education and more than 20 years of experience helping people learn, grow, and make meaningful change.

My path to health coaching grew out of a longtime interest in how people learn, what helps us change, and what supports well-being over time. It brought together my background in education and psychology with my interest in health, behavior change, and whole-person well-being.

But my interest in this work is personal, too.

Why This Work Matters to Me

My own experience with cancer changed the way I thought about my health and the importance of taking care of myself—not just to prevent illness, but to have the health and energy to participate fully in my life.

Caring for my mother as she lived with Alzheimer's disease deepened that perspective. It made me think differently about the years ahead and what it means to live well as we get older.

Those experiences are part of what led me to health coaching and to further training in functional medicine, brain health, menopause, stress and resilience, and behavior change.

Over time, I've come to believe that taking care of our health isn't simply about adding years to our lives. It's about adding life to our years.

For me, that means having the health and capacity to do the things that matter to us, stay connected to the people we care about, continue learning and growing, experience enjoyment and purpose, and participate as fully as possible in our own lives.

My Approach to Coaching

I believe you are the expert on your own life.

You bring your experiences, values, strengths, preferences, priorities, and understanding of what is—and isn't—realistic for you. My role isn't to decide what's best for you or hand you another list of things you "should" be doing.

My role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, help you clarify what you want, recognize your strengths and successes, explore what's getting in the way, and support you in deciding what you want to do next.

Sometimes you may already know exactly what you want to work on. Sometimes you may have recommendations from a healthcare professional that you're having difficulty putting into practice. And sometimes you may simply know that you'd like something about your health, well-being, or life to be different.

We can start wherever you are.

Together, we'll find realistic steps that fit your life, learn from what works and what doesn't, and adjust along the way. The goal is not perfection. It's helping you build confidence in your ability to take care of yourself and make changes you can carry forward.

My Professional Experience

In addition to my private coaching practice, I work as a Healthy Mindset Specialist in intensive cardiac rehabilitation at a major teaching hospital.

In that role, I coach patients one-on-one and provide education and workshops on topics including habit change and goal setting, healthy mindset, sleep, stress reduction, and mindfulness.

Working with people who are making lifestyle changes following a significant health event has reinforced something I see again and again:

Knowing what is good for our health and actually making it work in everyday life are two very different things.

That's one of the places health and wellness coaching can make a difference.

A Whole-Person View of Health

Health is about more than the absence of disease.

The way we feel and function is influenced by many interconnected parts of our lives—movement, nutrition, sleep, stress, relationships, our surroundings, community and belonging, purpose, mindset, and more.

That's why I don't believe everyone needs the same plan or needs to work on every area of health at once.

What matters is what matters to you.

Health and wellness coaching gives you a place to step away from all the information and "shoulds," consider what you actually want for yourself, and begin taking steps toward it—with support along the way.
